Paastumist imiteeriva toitumise tehnoloogia on Proloni toodete tervisega seotud kasutegurite keskmes. Selle täpne toitaineline koostis toidab keha, hoides samal ajal ainevahetust ja rakke paasturežiimil – sellega kaasneb paastust tulenev kasu kogu tervisele, aga sina sööd samal ajal taimset, puhast ja esmaklassilist toitu. Paastu jäljendava toitumise töötas välja Lõuna-California ülikooli pikaealisuse instituudi ja ettevõtte L-Nutra Inc. ülemaailmne pikaealisuse ekspertide meeskond eesotsas professor Valter Longoga (on nimetatud TIME Top 50 kõige mõjukama inimese hulka tervisevaldkonnas).

Proloni paastu imiteerivat toitumist on testitud sõltumatult enam kui 32 inimkatses eesmärgiga uurida selle kasutamist pikaealisuse toetamises, haiguste ennetamises ja remissioonis (diabeet, vähk, südame-veresoonkonnahaigused, põletikud jm). Uuringuid on läbi viidud 18 ülikooli (Stanford, Mayo Clinic, Miami ülikool, Indiana ülikool, Genova ülikool, Leideni ülikool, Heidelbergi ülikool, Palermo ülikool teiste seas) uurimiskeskustes. Läbiviidud uuringud on tohutult aidanud edendada Proloni juhtpositsiooni pikaealisust toetava toitumise ja toit kui ravim valdkonnas ning need on näidanud Proloni olulisi elumuutvaid tulemusi. Nendest uuringutest enamuses on kasutatud protokolli 3–6 korda Proloni 5-päevast paastu imiteerivat toitumisprogrammi aastas.
